Chinese Dietary Therapy & Lifestyle Advice Wollongong

Personalised dietary therapy, lifestyle advice and targeted supplementation designed to support your health, restore balance, and help you feel your best

What is Chinese Dietary Therapy?

Chinese dietary therapy is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses food as a way to support balance, healing, and overall wellbeing. In Chinese medicine, foods are understood to have different energetic properties and functions within the body, and dietary recommendations are tailored to your individual presentation and health goals.

Rather than focusing only on calories or nutrients, Chinese dietary therapy considers factors such as digestion, energy, circulation, temperature, sleep, and emotional wellbeing when making recommendations.

Dietary guidance is often incorporated alongside acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other treatments as part of a holistic approach to care.

What role do lifestyle advice and supplements play in treatment?

Lifestyle factors such as stress, sleep, movement, nutrition, and daily habits can have a significant impact on overall health and wellbeing. As part of your treatment plan, I may provide personalised lifestyle recommendations and, where appropriate, tailored supplement support to help address underlying imbalances and support long-term health outcomes.

Recommendations are always individualised to your presentation, goals, and stage of life, and are designed to feel realistic and sustainable within everyday life.

Your first appointment

  • Before your appointment, you’ll receive an online intake and consent form to complete. On the day, please arrive well hydrated, having eaten recently, and wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid brushing or scraping your tongue beforehand, as tongue assessment forms part of the diagnosis.

  • During your consultation, we’ll discuss your health concerns and goals before assessing your pulse, tongue, and any relevant areas of the body. Your treatment may include acupuncture, and where appropriate, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, herbal medicine, or lifestyle support.

  • You’ll then rest comfortably with the needles in place for around 20–30 minutes in a calm and relaxing treatment environment. After treatment, people often feel more relaxed, settled, and balanced.
